Khalid Mehmood, the PTI-backed candidate in NA-231 in the general elections held on February 8, has submitted an application to the Election Commission for a recount of votes. On which the Election Commission ordered a recount in four polling stations on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Abdul Hakeem Baloch, supported by the People’s Party, won NA-231 in the general elections held on February 8 by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Abdul Hakeem Baloch supported by the People’s Party came first with 43,634 votes and Khalid Mehmood supported by PTI came second with 43,245 votes. The difference between the two was only 400 votes, so the PTI candidate applied for a recount which the ECP approved after 8 months.
In the general elections held on February 8, the big towers were shaken and Nawaz Sharif also lost his seat from NA-15. This made the position of PTI the strongest in the election, which was getting a two-third majority even before the election, but could only win 92 seats in the election.

In the election of 2024, the Supreme Court of Pakistan took away the symbol of the bat from PTI, due to which PTI had to contest the election as an independent. PTI contested the election on various symbols which were allotted by ECP. But still, PTI won a maximum number of seats.
In this election, it was clear that the handlers were against PTI, the Supreme Court of Pakistan was against PTI, and all party agencies were against PTI. The personality of Pakistan does not depend on some power that Imran Khan becomes the prime minister again. Therefore, he was disqualified by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
